Dissension follows a simple game of “Pairs” between “The Conduit” and “Rahil Gaines” a poet from Birmingham, having suffered a heart attack Rahil wakes up confronted with a strange man in front of him, in a space of nothingness. The Conduit introduces himself, and familiarises Rahil, with the fact he is dead, the two then lead a conversation about morality, religion, humanity. Through the game, we follow key moments in Rahil’s life, the game serves a test for Rahil for whether he shall pass on or be cast out into the void, forever lost. This game serves as a character analysis of Rahil, nonetheless we also explore the moral compass and mind of a sentient being.
